The main online access point for Common Pleas case information is the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas Public Portal, while the Delaware County Clerk of Courts Legal Division and the Probate, Juvenile, General Division, and Municipal Court offices handle different record needs.

Delaware County Court of Common Pleas Public Portal

Use the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas Public Portal for public case information from the General, Probate, and Juvenile Divisions. The portal includes a public records search and displays computerized case information maintained by the Delaware County Court of Common Pleas.

Name search tip: Party names in General Division and Domestic Relations cases may contain punctuation, so try reasonable name variations if a search does not return the expected case.

The portal states that case information is public information, but users should confirm details with the proper court or clerk office when an official copy, filing action, or case-specific answer is needed.

Clerk of Courts Legal Division records

The Delaware County Clerk of Courts website provides access to Legal Division information for civil, domestic relations, felony criminal, and appellate cases. Users may find case dockets, court schedules, and images of documents filed in the Clerk’s office for the Delaware County Common Pleas Courts and the Fifth District Court of Appeals.

Document images and public access limits

Not every court record image is available to the general public online. Domestic Relations case filing images are not viewable online by the general public. Juvenile Court and Probate Court also have some limits on viewing case images.

Newly received, non-confidential civil complaints that are e-filed may be visible online before they are accepted and processed. Filers should redact confidential information before e-filing. Complaints or documents proposed to be filed under seal should be filed physically with the Clerk of Court’s Office or by mail, along with a motion requesting sealed filing.

Probate Court record search and older records

The Delaware County Probate Court provides an online record search for more recent dockets and records. During court hours, a public terminal is also available in the court lobby for reasonable use to search computerized dockets by name.

Some Probate Court records are stored on different media or off site. Marriage records from 1996 to the present are held by the Delaware County Probate Court. Marriage records before 1996 are located at the Delaware County Records Center. Estate records from January 20, 1950 to the present are held by the Probate Court, while estate records before January 20, 1950 are located at the Records Center.

General Division dockets

The Delaware County Common Pleas Court General Division provides docket pages for Judge Hemmeter, Judge Schuck, and the Initial Appearance Docket. The General Division handles adult felony cases in Delaware County and civil cases in which the amount in dispute exceeds $15,000.

Municipal Court case lookup

Delaware Municipal Court provides a case lookup option for municipal matters, along with online fine and ticket payment access. The court lists office hours as Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Forms, filing fees, and payments

The Clerk of Courts provides forms for civil, criminal, domestic relations, protection order, Fifth District Court of Appeals, and title matters. All forms are listed as Adobe PDF files. For court forms, use the Delaware County Clerk of Court forms page.

The Clerk’s fee schedule lists Legal Division court cost deposits and copy costs, including $0.10 per page for copies and $1.00 per certification. Court costs paid through the CourtView portal are processed by LexisNexis, and users should confirm the amount on the LexisNexis screen before authorizing payment.
