This page helps users with a Property Search in Hamilton County, Indiana by explaining where to look up property reports, tax payment information, ownership details, assessed values, and related records.
The main starting point is the Hamilton Co., IN - Property Records application, also described as the Property Reports and Payments application.
Hamilton Co., IN - Property Records
Use the Hamilton Co., IN - Property Records application to search property reports and payment information. The tool supports tax payment review, current balance due, tax statements, comparison reports, ownership information, deductions, transfer history, assessed values, and property record cards.
Searches can be started with these property identifiers or address details:
- County, or duplicate, number with 16 digits, with or without spaces, dashes, and decimals.
- State parcel number with 18 digits, with or without spaces, dashes, and decimals.
- Property address using the house number, without fractions or dashes.
- Mailing address using the house number, without fractions or dashes.
After entering a supported search value, results are listed below the search box. Use a modern browser such as Chrome, Firefox, or Edge because Internet Explorer is no longer supported and may not show all available information.
Check the report date. Different property reports may reflect information as of different dates, so figures or details may not always match across reports.
Property reports, taxes, and payments
The county’s Property and Taxes page points users to the same Property Reports and Tax Payments service for tax payments, current balance due, tax statements, comparison reports, ownership information, deductions, transfer history, assessed values, and property record cards.
For online tax payments, use the Property Reports and Payments application. For mailed payments, make checks payable to the Treasurer of Hamilton County and mail them to the Hamilton County Treasurer at 33 N 9th Street, Suite 112, Noblesville, IN 46060. Mail must be postmarked by the due date.
In-person payments are handled by the Hamilton County Treasurer's Office on the first floor of the Historic Courthouse in downtown Noblesville. The office accepts checks, cash, cashier's checks, and money orders. Credit card payments are not accepted in the office, but can be made online.
Assessment values and property record cards
The Hamilton County Assessor’s Office handles real and business personal property assessment, real estate and business personal property appeals, reassessment, sales disclosure work, omitted property, and certification of current assessments to the County Auditor's office.
Property record cards can be obtained through the Property Reports and Payments application under Property Assessment, from the appropriate Satellite Office, or from the County Assessor. The Assessor’s Office advises users to review the assessment property record card for errors.
The Notice of Assessment Form 11 is mailed by April 30, and the appeal deadline listed for 2026 is June 15, 2026. For the January 1, 2026 assessment, the Assessor’s Office uses sales from January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025 for comparison.
Ownership records, deeds, and address changes
The Hamilton County Auditor’s Office Real Property Department maintains property tax maps and ownership records for the county. Deeds transferring property must be processed through the Real Property Department before they are processed by the Hamilton County Recorder.
For deed approval, the deed must include deeded owner names as they took title, a full legal description, notarization, a tax mailing address, and either an Indiana State Sales Disclosure form or an Assessor’s Office exempt stamp. The Auditor charges a $10 fee per parcel, cash or check only. The Auditor's Office will not accept documents for recording after 4 p.m.
Mailing address changes should be made through the Real Property Department of the Auditor's Office. Completing a Post Office mailing address change does not update the Real Property Department. Failure to notify the department before March may cause the tax bill to be delivered to the wrong address.
Recorded documents and maps
The Recorder's Office records instruments and maintains those records. For deeds, the document must first be reviewed by the Assessor's Office, then transferred by the Auditor's Office, and then recorded by the Recorder's Office.
The Recorder's staff will not search public records or provide legal opinions. If recording information is known, a copy may be requested from the office. Otherwise, public access computers are available for in-office searching.
Recorded documents can also be searched online through the Recorder’s Office records access. The deed index extends back to February 1947, and miscellaneous records extend back to 1973.
For map-based property context, the county also provides GIS and Maps resources, including the Hamilton County GeoHub and Hamilton County Imagery Hub.

What search information can I use?
