Inmate visitation rules and hours

Tippecanoe County uses video visitation. Visitors register in the Sheriff's Office lobby at the provided kiosks or through inmatesales.com. Visits must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.

No more than eight onsite or online visits are allowed during a Sunday-through-Saturday week. Visitation is not allowed between people who have an active protective order in place.

Inmate mail

As of April 10, 2023, inmate mail must be sent to the approved addresses. Mail received at other addresses will be rejected.

Personal checks and payroll checks are not accepted. Jail staff cannot discuss an inmate's account with anyone other than the inmate.

Drop-off items for inmates

Allowed items may be dropped off in the jail lobby during business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., excluding holidays or other lobby closures. All dropped-off items must be signed into the drop-off log.

  • Prescription eyeglasses must be in good repair, and only soft cases are accepted.
  • Two new pairs of contact lenses may be dropped off at one time.
  • Necessary medical items must be approved by medical staff or the jail commander before being brought to the lobby.
  • Plain religious necklaces and plain wedding bands may be accepted when they meet jail rules.
  • Court clothes are accepted for jury trial or sentencing only.
