Name, business, and case number search tips
Name searches must include both a first and last name. To search by last name only, enter an asterisk in the First Name field and the last name in the Last Name field.
Business name searches require a Registered User account. ClerkQuest states that there is no charge for that registration level.
When searching by case number, use one of the listed ClerkQuest formats: YYYY-XX-999999-A-O or YYYY-XX-999999-O. Citation number searches use the format X1XXXXX.
Online coverage and result limits
Online docket information is available for most cases filed from about 1990 to the present. Documents are available from 2009 to the present for most case types.
Search results are limited to the first 500 results. If the result set is too broad, add more details such as case type, date range, full name, case number, or citation number.
Lack of search results does not mean no case exists. Some sensitive case types have limited public results or may require in-person verification or an approved access role.
Access levels and document availability
ClerkQuest provides public viewing of certain court records under Florida Supreme Court Administrative Order AOSC24-65. Access varies by user role and by case type.
Some records are excluded because they are confidential by statute or court order. Sealed and expunged cases have restricted access. Mental health, juvenile, adoption, injunction, and other sensitive case types may show limited information or no public results.
Some document images are marked Viewable on Request. Those documents are reviewed before public viewing so protected information can be removed. ClerkQuest states that the Clerk makes every effort to make requested VOR documents available within 2 business days, but larger or more sensitive documents may take longer.
Registered access and case party access
Users who need more than general public access can register through ClerkQuest. The Registered User role does not require sending a notarized application to the Clerk, but the email verification step must be completed.
Parties to a case, attorneys of record, and agency users may need to print an access agreement, have it notarized, and return it as directed. Party access must be requested for each case, and case numbers must be entered in the required format.
Attorneys must provide a valid Florida Bar number and have a status of eligible to practice law in Florida. Agency employees submit their notarized registration agreement through their agency Gatekeeper when required.
Court calendars and court date lookup
ClerkQuest includes a Court Calendar option for viewing court hearings. Calendar results may list the judge, session type, start time, end time, location, and number of cases.
Okaloosa County also provides a court date lookup for criminal and traffic cases. That lookup asks for first name, last name, and date of birth.
Use the find your court date lookup for criminal and traffic court date searches, or use the view court calendar option for hearing calendar information.
Certified copies and official records accuracy
Online court record indexes are not the official Public Records Indices. If the online version differs from the official Public Records Indices kept at the Okaloosa County Courthouse in Crestview or the Okaloosa Courthouse Annex Extension in Fort Walton Beach, the official records control.
Certain electronically certified documents may be obtained through the Records Search feature in ClerkQuest and added to a cart for checkout. Certified copies that cannot be handled through the online system must be obtained from one of the Clerk’s locations.
Unredacted documents are not available online. A party seeking an unredacted copy must go to the courthouse, present a state-issued ID, and complete identity verification.
Help with missing or sensitive court records
If a docket item does not have an attached document, the document may predate electronic scanning. The Clerk began electronically scanning documents in 2009.
If confidential information appears online without redaction, contact the Clerk’s Office immediately and include the affected case division. If you believe a public document should be made confidential, the Clerk directs users to seek the appropriate court relief or legal advice.

How far back do online court records go?
Online docket information is available for most cases filed from about 1990 to the present. Documents are available from 2009 to the present for most case types.
