This page helps you find Court Records in Duval County, Florida and understand the main ways to view, request, and order them. It covers online access through CORE and the Clerk paths to use when a record is limited, older, or needs staff review.
For most users, the starting point is the Duval County Clerk of Courts online records portal known as CORE. Depending on the case type, document status, and your access level, you may be able to view records online, request review of a document, or contact the Clerk for help.
CORE court records search
The main online tool for Duval County court records is search court records in CORE. Public access users can search non-confidential court records in non-confidential case types, and the portal also supports searches by case number or by criteria.
- Case number if you have it
- Case year
- Court type
- Case number
- Party last name, first name, or middle name
- Citation number
- Case type
If you know the uniform case number, that is the most direct way to open a case. If not, use the search fields to narrow results by party name, court type, or case details.
- Open the public access CORE search page.
- Search by case number or by the available case criteria fields.
- Open the case record and review the docket and any available document links.
- If a document is marked for request or is not immediately viewable, follow the portal prompts for document review or use the Clerk contact options below.
Important: Online viewing permissions depend on the case type, the document, and the access rules that apply to your user role.
Online viewing rules and access levels
Duval County offers online viewing of non-confidential court records, but access is not the same for every user or every case. Public access allows viewing of non-confidential records in non-confidential case types, but it does not let users request release of documents that have not already been reviewed and published in CORE.
Users who create a free CORE account can request that new documents be reviewed and published for viewing. Registered users may also view non-confidential records in cases governed by the Florida Rules of Family Law and the Florida Probate Rules.
Some documents show View on Request. That means the document can be released for viewing, but a Clerk employee must first review it for proper redaction. After review, the requester receives an email when the document is ready, and once published it becomes viewable in CORE for users who are allowed access under the applicable rules.
If a document icon shows Unavailable, that generally means the record is confidential and cannot be viewed through the online portal at your current access level. Some records may still be available in person through the Clerk.
Registered CORE access
If you need broader online access than basic public viewing, Duval County uses a registration process for CORE. Registered users can request review of documents for release, and attorneys of record, parties, and certain business representatives may have access tied to their role.
To become a registered user, complete the Registration Agreement to View Records Online and return it to the Clerk following the form instructions. The agreement states that attorney email addresses should match the attorney’s Florida Bar profile email, and the completed form can be delivered in person, emailed, or mailed to the CORE Registration Desk.
Self-represented parties must register for a free CORE account and list the cases in which they are representing themselves. Attorneys who cannot view a case should confirm they are listed in the Attorney section of the case record in CORE.
Electronic certified court records and copy fees
You can order eCertified copies of court records through CORE. Electronic certified documents are available for download after purchase and include an electronic stamp, seal, and unique code for authentication.
| Request type | Fee details | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Online eCertified court record | $2.00 certification fee plus a $6 processing fee | Payment is by credit card, with a non-refundable 3.5% service fee on credit card payments. |
| In person or by mail, emailed eCertified copy | $2.00 certification fee | Payment options differ by request method. |
| In person or by mail, paper copy requested | $1 per page plus the $2.00 certification fee | Personal checks are not accepted by the Clerk's Office. |
The Clerk states that some parties and agencies may be entitled to free certified copies under Florida law. If that may apply to you, contact the appropriate Clerk department before ordering online.
Records not available online
If a court document pre-dates the online records system or is otherwise unavailable online, the next step is staff assistance through the Clerk. Include as much identifying information as you can, such as the case number, party names, or dates of birth, to help locate the record.
For users who need the Clerk’s court records information page before searching or ordering, you can review Duval County court records information. That page explains public access, registered user access, ordering certified copies, and what to do when a document is not available online.

Common questions
How do I search Duval County court records online?
Use the CORE public access portal to search by case number or by case details such as case year, court type, party name, citation number, or case type.
Why does a document say View on Request?
That label means the document can be released for viewing, but it must first be reviewed by a Clerk employee to confirm proper redaction. After review, the requester receives an email when the document is ready.
Why does a document show as unavailable?
In CORE, an unavailable icon generally means the document is confidential and cannot be viewed online at your current access level. Some records may still be obtainable in person from the Clerk.
Can I view family law or probate court records with public access?
Basic public access does not allow viewing of records in cases governed by the Florida Rules of Family Law or the Florida Probate Rules. Registered users may view non-confidential records in those case categories.
What should I do if the record is not online?
If the record pre-dates the online system or is otherwise unavailable online, contact the Clerk for assistance and provide as much identifying information as possible, including case number, party names, or dates of birth.
