The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department provides the inmate lookup path, visitation scheduling information, jail contacts, and custody-related notices for people held in county detention facilities.

County of San Bernardino Inmate Locator

Use the search the County of San Bernardino Inmate Locator tool to look up a person by booking number or by name details.

• 10-digit booking number, if known
• Last name and first name
• Date of birth, or an approximate age if the date of birth is not known
• Gender

When using an approximate age, the search includes two years before and two years after the age entered.

• Enter the booking number and choose the booking search option, or enter the name, date of birth or age, and gender.
• Review the inmate information, arrest information, housing facility, visiting information, mailing address, bail, and projected release details when available.
• Use the inmate’s booking number, facility, and housing location when scheduling a visit or calling for help.

Custody results and release information

Inmate records may show booking number, sex, name, alias, date of birth, age, physical description, arrest date, bail, arrest location, arrest agency, housing facility, projected release date, release date, and release notification options.

The locator also provides projected release lists by date and out-of-custody lists by release date. Once an inmate has been released, updated custody information is not received through the Sheriff’s Department locator.

Missing name notice: Some names may not appear because of exemptions under Government Code section 6254(f). For those cases, contact West Valley Detention Center.

Visitation scheduling and rules

To schedule a social visit, first look up the inmate in the locator and use the scheduling link shown in the inmate record. The online scheduling feature is available starting Tuesdays at midnight through Saturdays at 11:59 p.m. It is not for official attorney visits.

Those who do not use online scheduling may call the Visiting Center at (909) 887-0364. Visiting appointments must be made one day before the requested visit, and visitors must arrive 30 minutes before the scheduled time.

• Visits are scheduled first come, first served and may change without notice.
• There are no same-day visits.
• Visitors must show valid photo identification.
• Visitors under 18 must be accompanied by a qualified adult unless a listed exception applies.
• Visitors who are on probation, on parole, or have been convicted of a felony must request authorization before scheduling.

Mail, money, care packages, and bail

Mail should include a return address. Up to 10 pictures may be sent at one time, and pictures cannot be larger than 5 by 7. Books and magazines must be mailed directly from the bookstore or publisher, and hard-bound books are not accepted.

Money orders may be mailed and posted to the inmate’s account if made out to the correct detention facility and include the inmate’s name and booking number. The jail accepts money orders from the U.S. Postal Service and Western Union. Cash and personal checks are not accepted.

Care packages may be ordered through find an inmate for an iCare package. Bail may be accepted by the Sheriff’s Department in cash or by surety bond, but posting bail does not guarantee release when a charge has no bail, a sentence condition, or another hold.

Court dates, charges, and case information

The Inmate Locator may not show the inmate’s current court appearance date. For current court date information, contact the San Bernardino County Superior Court.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department does not provide court and charge information for federal or U.S. Marshal inmates. The locator directs users to the Federal Bureau of Prisons or the U.S. Marshal Service Los Angeles Communication Center for those matters.
